Rusty the Egg Nog Connoisseur

My name is Rusty Ray, and I live in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. I am a video producer for a community TV station in the northwest Twin Cities suburbs, and I have my own video business, On The Double Media.

I have lived in a few different regions of this country, including the place of my family’s origin in the eastern Carolinas, as well as in the Mid-Atlantic, where I grew up and attended college (Go Terps!)

Am I a chef? No. Am I a culinary expert? No. Am I an expert on anything? Only if you count grass mowing, active voice writing, subject-verb agreement, and all things David Letterman, U2, Michael Jordan, or NASCAR fandom.

But I have consumed–and have thoroughly enjoyed–egg nog for my as long as I can remember. My mother made egg nog in our kitchen around the holidays and we began purchasing it in stores sometime in my teenage years. Where we lived in Maryland meant we could readily purchase certain brands that were not available once I moved out of the house and began my TV career in the Carolinas, and the brands I enjoyed there are not all available where I live now north of the Twin Cities. But I digress.

With social media, my passion for egg nog and the people who followed my reviews for egg nog has grown. It’s to the point now that I receive texts and messages from people around the country with varieties they want to try or wondering what my review of those brands are.

So, here we are. A site that can bring it all together. I want to share ideas and have some fun with this, and I hope you can do the same. Send me information and reviews of any kind of egg nog that you make or buy.
